Helping you to understand ADHD, learn effective parenting strategies, and develop a family plan through group workshops and private sessions.

Beyond the Diagnosis:
Supporting Your Whole Family

Receiving an ADHD diagnosis is the first step, but the journey of integrating that knowledge into your daily life is where the real work begins. It’s common for parents to feel overwhelmed when trying to implement new strategies, manage difficult behaviors, and support a child's unique needs. Our Family Support Service provides a dedicated specialist to bridge this gap, giving you the practical tools, parenting strategies, and emotional support to move forward with confidence and restore peace to your home.

How can an ADHD Family Support Specialist help?

Our ADHD Family Support Specialist provides comprehensive guidance, starting by helping you to understand the full scope of your child’s ADHD, including its impact on their development, behavior, executive functioning, and sensory needs. From this educational foundation, we offer practical training in effective parenting strategies, proactive discipline, and specific behavior management techniques. This hands-on support extends to establishing clear family routines, improving organizational skills, and fostering healthy, effective communication.

A key part of the service is creating a safe, supportive space for parents to share their experiences. The specialist provides emotional support and expert guidance on managing challenging moments such as meltdowns and anger, while simultaneously working to build the child's self-esteem and nurture family connections. They also serve as crucial guides for navigating the world outside the home, teaching parents how to advocate for their child, communicate effectively with school staff, and manage school interventions or accommodations. The ultimate goal is to build family resilience, foster the child's independence, and empower the entire family to confidently manage the complexities of ADHD in daily life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my child grow out of their ADHD diagnosis over time?

The Multimodal Treatment Study of ADHD (MTA) found that approximately 9% of the children in the study no longer exhibited ADHD symptoms at the age of 25 years. Your child's ADHD may change significantly throughout their lifespan and will likely become more manageable with research-based treatments and interventions like positive parenting strategies and school accommodations.

How long can I remain a part of the Support Circle after the workshop series concludes?

For as long as you need! One of the most helpful interventions we recommend is to surround yourself with people who understand your unique journey and can offer support, encouragement, and actionable solutions when you need a hand. Other parents of ADHD children can not only help to guide you toward effective strategies, but can save you time, money, and heartache by sharing what has and has not worked for their child.

Does insurance cover these ADHD Family Support Services?
